A little bird told me...

I love anything that has a cute little bird on it, so I just have to share it when I came across this pretty dinnerware collection. Better yet, they come in one of my favorite color combination: blue and chocolate brown. You can find them at the online boutique Room Service Home. They have a wide selection of beautiful home decor items and furnitures. Here are some other items that caught my eye...

Succulent Critter

This baby succulent turtle from Simply Succulents is just adorable!! They also have other little critters and amazing succulents collection.

More photos of the new babies

One of the hardy hibiscus I bought Sunday evening is in full bloom this morning. The flowers are huge. I got 2 pink ones and a white one...can't wait to transplant them into bigger pretty pots!

Two sedum were potted last night. Now they can get to know their succulent friends that were potted earlier in the season.

The purple coneflowers are waiting to be potted, too. They just look so cute! And here is a photo of the annual salvia.

I bought 5 of this plant stands last Saturday. They were on clearance for about $27 each...such a good deal. Because of that I went to Kmart and got 15 hostas and 15 pots (I cleared all their pots in that style) since it takes 3 pots each. The lady was surprised and she said to me, "WOW you got some works to do!!" It really wasn't that bad...it took me about 2 hours to pot them all, and with a radio standing by, it was the perfect activity for a Saturday evening!

And talking about hosta, I didn't know they grow so fast until I took a photo of two hostas and compared it with the one I took just one week ago...you can really notice the difference in their sizes. It might not be too long before I have to re-pot them again. That potting soil must be really good...cause my mint and parsley are growing like crazy too!

I will finish this blog by sharing a photo of the pretty rose of sharon in my front yard. For the whole past week, I've trying to figure out what it is...now I finally know. They look like twin sisters hugging each other. So cute.

Wall of paint-by-numbers

I have been wanting to cover a whole wall with vintage paint-by-number artwoks, that's why I fell in love with this photo from the current issue of Better Homes and Gardens magazine. The homeowners' seascape-themed collection reminded me so much of the good old days when I lived near the ocean. I might just start to collect my own from now, piece by piece.

Ahhh... the beautiful English garden

No...this is not my backyard (I can only wish). I came across the enchanting Petersham Nurseries while searching for decoration inspiration online. I LOVE their beautiful display of antiques and flowers. Make sure to click the "Picture Gallery" tab on top and enjoy tons of pretty photos.

First blog

I've been struggling for a long time about whether or not I want to start my own little blog. I am not really a word person. It's ok for me to write a few words here and there, but it's better for me to just use images. I do, however, love the idea of sharing interesting things that happened in my life with my family and friends, no matter where they are. So here I am, posting my very first blog.

I have just had a new patio put in, and now I've caught the gardening bug. Here are some babies I got yesterday from Home Depot: purple coneflower, hardy hibiscus, sedum, and annual salvia. I LOVE those hardy hibiscus; their flowers are huge. I am planning to put them in containers so I can look at them up and close on the patio. They make me so happy! I just wish the weather is not so muggy so I can sit out there for a longer time. :)
